Planning a Disney cruise from Florida
Start your Disney cruise search with your available dates, the people traveling, and the experiences you most want. Then compare the ship, itinerary, cabin, and total cost together.
Compare the Florida departure ports
Disney Cruise Line lists Florida departures from Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale. Port Canaveral can fit a trip that also includes the Orlando area; Fort Lauderdale uses Port Everglades. Available ships and itineraries depend on your dates, so check the actual sailing before arranging flights or hotels.
Disney’s official departure-port information
Choose the port around the whole trip
Port Canaveral: start here when an Orlando-area stay or time on the Space Coast is part of your plan. Price airport transfers, any hotel night and port parking separately from park tickets and cruise fare.
Fort Lauderdale: your cruise port is Port Everglades. Use the terminal assigned to your sailing for the drop-off, and compare the complete ground journey before choosing between South Florida airports.
Our Florida port guide explains the different parking charging rules. For example, Port Canaveral charges for arrival and departure calendar days; Port Everglades starts its daily parking period when you take a ticket. The same number of cruise nights does not necessarily mean the same number of parking charges.
Choose the itinerary you actually want
Tell us whether a particular island stop, time at sea, or a specific ship matters most. Do not assume every Disney sailing visits the same destinations or includes the same schedule of activities. We will compare the published itinerary for your dates.
Match the cabin to your family
Give us the number of travelers and children’s ages at sailing. We can help compare cabin categories, sleeping arrangements, and the practical difference between one cabin and multiple cabins. Request specific features early so we can check availability rather than assume them.
What is included—and what needs a separate budget?
| Included experiences | Optional purchases to budget separately |
|---|---|
| Regular dining, casual food options and soft-serve ice cream | Adult-exclusive specialty dining and specialty beverages |
| Theatre shows, movies, character greetings and age-appropriate youth clubs | Shore excursions, spa services, merchandise and photo packages |
| Pool and recreation facilities, subject to each activity’s rules | Transportation, accommodation and other travel outside the cruise fare |
Disney lists 24-hour room service among its amenities, but some items and deliveries carry fees. A particular show, restaurant or attraction may be ship-specific. See Disney’s official inclusions guide.
Drinks are location-dependent: Disney includes soft drinks with meals and at onboard beverage stations. Sodas ordered in bars or lounges, alcoholic drinks and bottled water carry extra charges. “Soft drinks included” does not mean every drink is complimentary. Read Disney’s beverage policy.
Look beyond the headline fare
Ask for the complete price for your party and a clear explanation of optional costs. Include your trip to the port, parking or transfers, any hotel stay, and the extras you plan to purchase. If you are combining the cruise with a theme-park stay, budget those parts separately.
Planning with children
Check current age requirements and reservation rules for the activities your family wants. If younger children or teens are traveling together, tell us whether being able to use the same programs is important. For specific access or dietary needs, we can help identify what needs to be confirmed with the cruise line.
Ready to compare?
Send us your preferred month or dates, children’s ages, cabin preference, approximate budget, and whether Port Canaveral or Fort Lauderdale is more convenient. You can also ask us to compare Disney with another cruise line for the same travel window.
Planning ahead for Disney Believe
Disney’s written announcement schedules Disney Believe’s maiden voyage for December 18, 2027, from Fort Lauderdale, followed by four- and five-night Bahamas and Caribbean cruises. General bookings are scheduled to open October 19, 2026. This is a future ship launch, not a current discount. Read our Disney Believe news update and Disney’s official reveal recap.
Before requesting a quote, decide whether your priority is a particular ship, an island stop, your school-break dates or the total budget. Then use our family cabin and cost checklist to make the comparison consistent. Email April to compare suitable Disney sailings.
Guide updated October 9, 2026 using Disney’s linked official amenity and beverage information, the official port resources in our port guide, and Disney’s written Believe announcement. General ship amenities are separate from any promotional fare. Confirm the ship, date, cabin, activities, booking eligibility and complete total before reserving.
