Hero of the Seas adds earlier Miami debut sailings for August 2027

Royal Caribbean has opened two additional Hero of the Seas cruises from Miami, moving the new Icon Class ship’s passenger debut earlier in August 2027.

Two newly added Miami sailings

• August 1, 2027: a seven-night Perfect Day CocoCay and Western Caribbean cruise from Miami.
• August 8, 2027: a three-night Perfect Day CocoCay cruise from Miami.

Royal Caribbean’s October 7 supplier notice says both sailings are now open to book. No fare was advertised in the notice, so travelers should confirm current cabin availability, itinerary details and the complete party total before reserving.

What to expect aboard Hero of the Seas

Hero of the Seas is Royal Caribbean’s fourth Icon Class ship and will be based in Miami. Royal Caribbean says the ship will feature eight neighborhoods, nine pools, 28 dining venues, new family raft slides and multigenerational accommodations including the three-story Ultimate Family Treehouse.

The broader Hero program includes seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from Miami, with each sailing visiting Perfect Day CocoCay. Royal Caribbean’s ship page lists destinations such as St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Roatán, Cozumel and Costa Maya across the wider deployment; these ports should not be assumed for either newly added cruise until the exact itinerary is checked.

Plan the Miami part of the trip, too

Use the PortMiami parking and arrival guide before reserving flights or a hotel. Families comparing these sailings can use our cabin, age-rule and total-cost checklist. Choose a ship and date first; advertised features alone do not establish a suitable cabin or an available fare.

Why the added sailings matter

The August 1 departure becomes an earlier opportunity to sail on Hero of the Seas than the previously announced mid-August launch schedule. The shorter August 8 getaway also gives travelers a three-night option before the ship begins its regular weeklong Caribbean program.
